Cabin Air Filter
This is a cabin Air Filter I replaced here at Fetch and Fix. “Every breath you take filters through this very system. Would you really want to be inhaling through a mouse nest?”
When?
Annually
or 15,000 Miles
What? Cabin air filters are a recent addition to automobiles. Initially, they were optional on some cars, but now almost every car is equipped with one. They filter all air inside the vehicle.
Why? Every breath you take inside your vehicle, whether it’s from the outside or being recirculated, passes through the essential cabin air filter. Not only does it filter the air from the A/C, heat, and ventilation systems, but it also serves as a potential trap for moisture from the outside air, creating an environment where mold can thrive. Imagine breathing that in. Additionally, the cabin air filter can attract mice looking to build nests, meaning that all the air flowing into your car passes through the mouse nest.
When? Cabin air filters should be changed every year or 15,000 miles. We highly recommend an imprgnated filter and HEPA if available.
