Brake Fluid

When? 5yrs or 60,000

What? Brake fluid is a non-compressible liquid that applies hydraulic pressure to your brake caliper or brake cylinder.

Why? It is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air. If the master cylinder or any other component leaks air, moisture can enter the brake fluid, leading to significant problems. Moisture can lower the boiling point of the fluid, resulting in decreased braking ability or even brake failure. Additionally, moisture can cause corrosion in the brake system’s internal components, including the lines, calipers, master cylinder, and ABS pump.

When? 5 years or 60,000 Miles. Some manufacturers recommend replacement earlier. Follow your manufacturers recommendations if they are lower than what we recommend.
