Serpentine Belt

When? 100,000 Miles

What? The serpentine drive belt is responsible for operating all the drive components on the front of an engine. These components may include the water pump, alternator, air conditioning, and power steering.

Why? If the belt breaks, all systems operated by the belt will stop functioning. This can cause damage to the engine if it overheats and can also be dangerous if you lose power steering.

When? It is recommended to replace the drive belt and check the idler pulleys and tensioner, replace them if needed.
